When the children were invited to choose Christmas gifts at the end of the year, a twelve-year-old girl chose a book of short stories. She loved reading and had made especially strong progress. Her wish was granted on the day she was discharged from the Child and Youth Care Centre.

The newsletter tells her story without naming her. It shows how the Children’s Home nurtured a personal strength and how much a book she had chosen for herself meant to her.
