In 2024 the Children’s Home reported on Zama Ntinga’s progress in kickboxing and mixed martial arts. She trained regularly, developed skills in boxing, wrestling and groundwork, and competed against older and bigger opponents. Her caregivers and coach spoke proudly of her courage and perseverance.
In February 2023, Zama had won two gold medals at a selection tournament and earned a place on the KwaZulu-Natal team. She said she enjoyed the fast movements and the team spirit. The sport gave her confidence and a goal to work towards.
