The 2015 newsletter reports how a family’s situation had improved since the previous annual report. Mangete Catholic Church built a new house with substantial financial support from Blessed Gérard’s Relief Fund. The home care team continued to visit, monitor the grandmother’s health and bring food, clothing, blankets and bedding. The family proudly showed the team their new home.
Earlier, the grandmother and her relatives had lived in a deteriorating house while she needed regular medical care. The Care Centre provided food parcels, clothing and blankets. The home care team helped her stay in contact with the local clinic. The social worker also followed up with the municipality about housing and helped the family approach the authorities for birth certificates for two children, so they could seek child support grants.
