In newsletter no. 36 from 2017, two people describe their experiences at Blessed Gérard’s Care Centre.

Wilfred Sibusiso Ngcobo first came to know the hospice through the care given to his sister. When he later became ill and lost his job, he turned to the centre for help. The hospice felt like a home to him. He especially valued the nurses’ kindness and dedication.

Mthokozisi Khumalo had hoped to study after school. Following a stroke, his mother eventually could no longer care for him on her own. At the care centre he found a safe place and people who looked after him with kindness.

Both accounts show how medical care and a dependable environment can ease the burden on families and give patients reassurance.
